The distance between inns can vary somewhat based on weather conditions. Generally
between 20-25 miles over sometimes rough terrain are covered daily. Sunday: Arrive
at the
Kedron Valley Inn during the afternoon and meet your host before
dinner. The Kedron is an 1828 New England inn with king sleigh beds, queen
canopy beds, award-winning cuisine and a private swimming lake with two white-sand
beaches. Voted "Inn of the Year" by inn-goers. A/C dining patio with extensive
flower gardens. Monday: Riders are introduced to their horses. Then ride through
the beautiful countryside to
Echo Lake Inn, located in Vermont's beautiful
lakes region, tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Tyson. It is an authentic historical inn,
having hosted many dignitaries such as Presidents Coolidge and McKinley, Thomas Edison,
Harvey Firestone and Henry Ford. For summer visitors, the Inn offers tennis, pool and
boating on Echo Lake. Tuesday: explore past centuries-old stone fences through the
woods of Ludlow to Wyman Falls Road to the village of Chester where the horses will stay
at a paddock at Silver and Leather Tack Shop. Riders may want to spend some time brousing
the shop. A few steps down the street to the elegant, yet comfortable country inn located
on the Village Green is the Fullerton Inn (formerly The Inn at Long Last). Wednesday:
Explore the woods,following single-tract trails through the smallest town in Vermont
(Baltimore) to the Inn at Weathersfield. The Inn, built in 1792 as a
stagecoach stop, has been a haven to travelers for over two hundred years. Thursday:
Riding through an army corp of engineers flood plain across the Black River to tranquil
farmlands, wooded hillside trails, country dirt roads, stone fences and pre-colonial ruins
can be seen along the ride to the Kedron Valley Inn. Friday:
Departure after breakfast and last photographs of new-found friends.
